Strike rate = (Runs ÷ Balls faced) × 100
How this works
A strike rate of 100 means a batter scores a run a ball. Above 150 is aggressive T20 scoring; in Test cricket, 50 is often perfectly sensible.
Read it next to the format and the match situation. A strike rate on its own tells you nothing about whether the innings was any good.
Common questions
What is a good strike rate?
It depends entirely on format. Roughly: 130 or above in T20, 85 or above in ODIs, and anything above 55 in Tests is brisk.
Do byes and leg byes count?
No. Only runs credited to the batter count towards a batting strike rate.
