The Sunrisers Eastern Cape team is looking to build on past successes under the leadership of captain Aiden Markram and coach Adrian Birrell.
The batting department has aggressive and steady players. Aiden Markram remains with his batting as well as leading the top order. Zak Crawley from England brings aggressive stroke play to the team, thus adding depth to the batting lineup. The South African talent in Tristan Stubbs and David Bedingham offers both versatility and consistency, while Tom Abell and Jordan Hermann add more to the middle order.

The bowling attack is equally impressive, with a blend of pace and spin. Marco Jansen, with his left-arm fast bowling, is expected to lead the pace attack. Richard Gleeson, acquired for 2.3 million, brings experience from various T20 leagues and is anticipated to play a pivotal role in the bowling unit. Craig Overton, another English import, adds depth to the pace department. Simon Harmer and Roelof van der Merwe, two spinners, will provide the much-needed control and variation to the bowling attack.
All-rounders Liam Dawson and Beyers Swanepoel add balance to the team as they contribute both with bat and ball. Okuhle Cele and Caleb Seleka will add depth to the bowling options and provide variety and fresh energy to the squad.
