Harleen Kaur Deol was born on June 21, 1998, in Chandigarh, India. She stands at 5 feet 3 inches (162 cm) tall. She is a right-handed batter and an occasional right-arm leg-spin bowler.
From a very young age, Harleen had been keenly interested in cricket. Gully cricket with her brother and other boys in the locality was a regular affair. Her family also supported her at an early stage, especially her mother. She completed her schooling at Yadavindra Public School in Mohali and further did her graduation from MCM DAV College in Chandigarh.
In domestic cricket, Harleen plays for Himachal Pradesh. She made her way to international cricket through consistent performances at the domestic level. She debuted in Women’s One Day International (WODI) for India against England on February 22, 2019, and then made her Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut against the same team on March 4, 2019.

One of the most memorable moments in her career came on July 10, 2021, during a T20I match against England. Harleen executed a brilliant catch near the boundary, which was a testament to her athleticism and presence of mind.
